Tunisia and Nigeria Forge New Path for Cultural Cooperation

Tunisia and Nigeria have begun laying the groundwork for a new framework of bilateral cultural cooperation following a preparatory meeting held on Monday, October 27, at Tunisia’s Ministry of Cultural Affairs.
The session forms part of Tunisia’s wider strategy to bolster South-South partnerships by promoting artistic collaboration and cultural exchange, particularly in the preservation and celebration of intangible heritage.
The meeting brought together Belinda Ilfo Lawrence, Chargée d’Affaires at the Nigerian Embassy in Tunisia, and Buba Youssef Yakubu, President of the Nigerian Agency for Technical Cooperation, alongside senior Tunisian officials.
Discussions covered potential exchanges in audiovisual production, as well as joint efforts in the restoration and promotion of tangible heritage. The Nigerian delegation presented a draft programme of artistic and cultural cooperation, which will be jointly reviewed by both nations’ international cooperation departments in the coming weeks.
