Agadir will host the fourth edition of TOC Afrique from September 22 to 24, bringing together three of the continent’s leading culinary competitions under one roof: the Bocuse d’Or Afrique, the Coupe d’Afrique de la Pâtisserie, and La Liste Afrique. The event is organized by Rahal Event, under the High Patronage of King Mohammed VI.
The program spans several venues across the Agadir region. The Domaine Limoune will open proceedings on September 22 with the La Liste Afrique ceremony, which recognizes the continent’s best restaurants and culinary professionals. The competition will then move to the Palais des Congrès Les Dunes d’Or in Taghazout Bay, hosting the Pâtisserie Cup on September 23 and the Bocuse d’Or Afrique — a continental offshoot of the competition created by Lyon chef Paul Bocuse in 1987 — the following day. Teams will have five hours and thirty minutes to complete their technical trials before a professional jury.
Six nations will compete for the continental titles. In pastry, Morocco will face Algeria, Egypt, Senegal, Côte d’Ivoire and Mauritius, while in the Bocuse d’Or Afrique, Tunisia, Egypt, Senegal, Côte d’Ivoire and Mauritius will challenge the Moroccan team.
Morocco enters as the reigning champion in both categories, having won both titles at the 2024 edition held in Marrakech. The Kingdom’s Bocuse d’Or Afrique team will be led by chef Abdessamad Dandani, supported by commis Ahmed El Hilali and coach Issam Rhachi, under the presidency of Rachid Maftouh.
In the pastry competition, El Mehdi Benbiga will compete in the chocolate category and Mourad Msour in the sugar category, with the Moroccan team presided over by Mohamed El Yazidi.
