South Korean technology powerhouse Naver announced June 12, 2025, plans to construct a next-generation artificial intelligence data center in Morocco, positioning the kingdom as a digital hub connecting Europe, Africa, and the Middle East.
The infrastructure project leverages Morocco’s strategic geographic position, international connectivity, and large-scale green electricity production capabilities. The future facility, powered by 500 megawatts of renewable energy, will connect to Europe via submarine cables, ensuring low latency and enhanced digital flow security.
Naver Cloud leads the international consortium implementing the project, collaborating with Nexus Core Systems and Lloyds Capital. Technology support comes from Nvidia, providing graphics processors and high-performance computing architectures, while Taqa Morocco supplies crucial energy infrastructure as a key player in Morocco’s electricity mix.
This partnership combination demonstrates Morocco’s emergence as a credible platform in the data economy, a segment traditionally dominated by established hubs like Dublin, Frankfurt, or Dubai.
