Senegal’s President Diomaye Faye Attends UN Conference to Champion Africa’s Economic Sovereignty

Senegalese President Bassirou Diomaye Faye is participating in the 4th International Conference on Financing for Development, held from 29 June to 2 July 2025 in Sevilla, Spain.
Organised under the United Nations’ banner, the high-level forum convenes global leaders, international institutions, and development partners to address the pressing challenges of mobilising resources for sustainable and inclusive development, particularly amid global economic uncertainty and the mounting impacts of climate change.
President Faye is expected to use his platform to advocate for African priorities, focusing on economic sovereignty and productive investment. In addition to delivering a plenary address, he will engage in thematic roundtables and hold strategic bilateral meetings to fortify Senegal’s economic and diplomatic ties. His participation underscores Senegal’s active role in shaping global dialogue on equitable growth and its commitment to fostering resilient partnerships for the continent’s advancement.
