Senegalese President Bassirou Diomaye Faye will embark on a working visit to the United States on 9 and 10 July 2025, following an official invitation from U.S. President Donald Trump, the Senegalese Presidency has announced, on July 8. The visit forms part of a high-level diplomatic engagement that will convene five African Heads of State to discuss critical economic and security issues impacting both the continent and the broader international community.
Joining President Faye at the Summit are the Presidents of Liberia (Joseph Boakai), Gabon (Brice Clotaire Oligui Nguema), Mauritania (Mohamed Ould Ghazouani), and Guinea-Bissau (Umaro Sissoco Embaló). The gathering signals renewed U.S. interest in African partnerships under Trump’s foreign policy agenda, with expectations of strategic discussions around trade, investment, regional security cooperation, and mutual economic growth.
