Morocco welcomed 11.6 million tourists by the end of July 2025, marking a 16% increase compared with the same period in 2024, according to the Ministry of Tourism, Handicrafts, and Social and Solidarity Economy.
The ministry noted that 52% of arrivals were Moroccan nationals living abroad (MRE). July alone recorded 2.7 million visitors, up 6% year-on-year, reinforcing the sector’s upward momentum.
Foreign tourist arrivals reached 875,000 in July, a 2% annual increase, while visits from MREs rose by 7% to 1.8 million. The figures highlight Morocco’s continued appeal to both international and diaspora travelers.
Tourism Minister Fatim-Zahra Ammor emphasized that Morocco remains both a “destination of the heart and of discovery” for millions worldwide. She stressed that the sector’s positive trajectory is supported equally by domestic tourists, the Moroccan diaspora, and foreign visitors.
This growth aligns with the objectives of the 2023–2026 tourism roadmap, which prioritizes enhancing visitor experience through sustained engagement with traveler expectations. The ministry reaffirmed its commitment to developing a competitive, inclusive tourism industry that meets evolving global standards.
