Türkiye and Senegal Sign Defence, Media, and Education Cooperation Agreements

Türkiye and Senegal have signed four agreements aimed at strengthening bilateral cooperation in defence, media, and education.
The accords were concluded on 7 August, following talks between Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Senegalese Prime Minister Ousmane Sonko at the Presidential Complex in Ankara.
Among them were a Military Financial Cooperation Agreement and a protocol amending the Cash Assistance Implementation of 28 January 2020, signed by Turkish Defence Minister Yasar Guler and Senegalese Armed Forces Minister General Birame Diop.
In the area of cultural and educational exchange, Turkish Trade Minister Omer Bolat and Senegalese Foreign Affairs Minister Yassine Fall signed an Agreement on Co-Production and Cooperation in Film, Audiovisual and Multimedia.
Additionally, a memorandum of understanding was signed between Türkiye’s Council of Higher Education (YOK) and Senegal’s Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, setting a framework for cooperation in higher education from 2025 to 2028. These agreements mark a deepening of strategic ties between the two nations.
