Ivorian President Alassane Ouattara appointed Gaoussou Toure as the country’s new national Mediator, the Presidency confirmed.
The appointment was made on Tuesday, March 10. Toure, a trusted ally of Ouattara, succeeds Adama Toungara in the role.
The national mediator is responsible for resolving disputes and conflicts through fair and reasoned mediation, guided by customs and social norms, while respecting existing laws and regulations. The appointment reflects the government’s commitment to strengthening mechanisms for peaceful dispute resolution across the nation.
