Rwanda’s economy grew by 9.4% in the second quarter of 2026, accelerating from 7.8% during the same period in 2025, according to data released by the National Institute of Statistics of Rwanda (NISR) on Tuesday, September 15, 2026.
Growth was led by the industry sector, which expanded by 18%, while services grew by 7% and agriculture recorded 4% growth. Services remained the largest contributor to the economy, accounting for 51% of GDP, followed by industry at 23% and agriculture at 21%. Net indirect taxes contributed the remaining 5%.
At current market prices, Rwanda’s GDP reached approximately 7.17 trillion Rwandan francs ($4.89 billion) in the second quarter of 2026, compared with about 5.8 trillion francs in the corresponding quarter of 2025.
