TotalEnergies–AMNI gas project reaches final investment decision

TotalEnergies and AMNI International Petroleum Development Company have reached a final investment decision on a gas project in Nigeria, supported by a long-term sales agreement with Nigeria LNG, lenders, government agencies and regulators.

AMNI Chairman and Chief Executive, Tunde Afolabi, said the decision demonstrated Nigeria’s capacity to attract serious, long-term investment into its oil and gas industry.

He said the partnership combined TotalEnergies’ technical and project-delivery expertise with AMNI’s experience as a Nigerian independent energy company. He also called for indigenous participation to extend beyond ownership to technical competence, financial discipline and sound corporate governance.

With the investment decision secured, the partners will focus on safe and timely execution, technical integrity, environmental protection and engagement with host communities. They will also collaborate with the Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board to maximise local participation in engineering, procurement, construction and operations.
