Resumption of courses in Togo for examination classes

Classes resumed partially this Monday in Togo. Educational institutions were closed since March 20 to limit the spread of Covid-19. This resumption concerns only students in exam classes after a two-month suspension of classes. The objective is to save the school year 2019-2020 and allow teachers to raise the level of students before the examinations. They will have 4 to 6 weeks of preparation before the exams.
Throughout this period, teachers and students must respect barrier gestures, such as regular hand washing, mandatorily wearing masks and avoiding physical contact. Students will be seated one per bench and must not exceed thirty per class, and teacher traffic in the classrooms is prohibited. In addition, the year will not be blank for other students. The authorities have stated in a release that “concerning intermediate or transitional classes, the government will very soon indicate the conditions, modalities and period for end-of-year assessments on the basis of the curricula already taught”,
The latest assessment of the pandemic situation in Togo reports 25,526 laboratory tests carried out throughout the country, 531 cases of Covid-19 of which 219 were active, 299 cured and 13 deaths.
