Guinean government dismisses director of the Judicial Police

The communiqué mentions the dismissal of the director of the PJ and several other officials, including directors-general and secretaries-general of the different ministries that make up the government.
The name of the person who will replace Julião Vieira Insumbo, who was appointed to the post in September but only took office in October 2023, has not been announced.
Insumbo, who holds a master’s degree in law and is a magistrate in the Public Prosecutor’s Office, graduated from the Faculty of Law in Bissau and replaced Domingos Monteiro Correia, also a magistrate in the Public Prosecutor’s Office.
On taking up the post, the now-former director of the Guinean PJ, an organization that stands out in the fight against organized crime, particularly drug trafficking, said that his work would be based on compliance with the law, both from a preventive point of view and in its application.
