Morocco’s digital services and outsourcing sector continues its upward trajectory, generating 13.4 billion dirhams in export revenues during the first half of 2025, according to preliminary data from the Foreign Exchange Office. This represents a 3.5 percent increase from 12.9 billion dirhams in the same period of 2024, demonstrating the sustained appeal of Morocco’s digital offerings in global markets.
The sector closed 2024 with total exports reaching 26.2 billion dirhams, marking a modest 0.2 percent growth over 2023. While seemingly moderate, this performance comes against a backdrop of global IT services deceleration and intensified competition in outsourcing markets. Morocco’s ability to maintain growth reflects its successful transition toward higher-value services and market diversification strategies.
Information technology and outsourcing services dominate the export portfolio, accounting for 40.3 percent of total revenues. Customer relationship management services, primarily call centers, represent 37.4 percent of exports. Engineering services capture 13.2 percent of the market, while Business Process Outsourcing accounts for 8.9 percent. The emerging Knowledge Process Outsourcing segment currently contributes 0.2 percent.
Engineering services demonstrated particular strength, growing 7.1 percent to reach 3.46 billion dirhams in 2024, signaling increased recognition of Moroccan expertise in digital design and maintenance. Business Process Outsourcing recorded the sector’s highest growth rate at 16.9 percent, reaching 2.33 billion dirhams, confirming Morocco’s attractiveness for complex administrative and management processes.
These achievements align with the national Digital Morocco 2030 strategy, which aims to establish the kingdom as a regional digital hub capable of attracting major international clients. The strategy targets increasing digital economy’s GDP contribution to 6 percent while creating 240,000 qualified jobs by 2030, positioning Morocco as a competitive force in the global digital services landscape.
