Angola’s military leadership reaffirms national commitment to peace and regional stability

Angola’s Armed Forces Chief of General Staff has reiterated on June 30 the country’s firm commitment to peace, stability, and international cooperation, according to a report by ANGOP during engagements in Geneva.

Speaking within the framework of the Universal Periodic Review, the military leadership stressed that Angola remains aligned with constitutional principles and international obligations that prioritize peaceful conflict resolution, human rights, and regional stability.

The statement highlighted Angola’s role as a consistent advocate for dialogue and multilateral cooperation in addressing security and governance challenges across the region. It also pointed to ongoing reforms within the defence sector aimed at strengthening professionalism, discipline, and operational readiness, while maintaining a strong focus on peacebuilding.
