Rwanda’s agricultural export revenues rose by 24.3 per cent to US$1.1 billion in the 2025/26 fiscal year, marking the highest annual earnings ever recorded by the country’s agricultural sector.
The National Agricultural Export Development Board (NAEB) attributed the growth to improvements in export infrastructure, increased productivity and stronger compliance with international standards.
In a statement issued on Thursday, August 13, 2026, NAEB said the record earnings reflected the continued transformation, resilience and growing global competitiveness of Rwanda’s agricultural exports. The agency said the growth was supported by specialised export-quality infrastructure, improved traceability and quality assurance systems, as well as expanded market promotion and product diversification.
Other contributing factors included improvements in logistics, greater adoption of technology and innovation, and efforts to meet international market requirements. NAEB Chief Executive Officer Claude Bizimana described surpassing the US$1 billion threshold as a significant milestone for Rwanda’s agricultural export sector.
He said the achievement demonstrated the country’s commitment to transforming agriculture and strengthening its position in global markets. Bizimana reaffirmed NAEB’s commitment to working with stakeholders to further increase export revenues, diversify agricultural products and promote greater value addition.
