Confederation of African Football President Patrice Motsepe has expressed confidence that Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda will successfully host the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations, dismissing speculation that the tournament could be relocated.
Speaking at a press conference on Thursday, Motsepe acknowledged delays and other challenges in preparations, but said CAF would support the three East African countries in completing the required facilities and infrastructure.
He praised progress in Tanzania but urged the host nations to accelerate work over the next nine months to meet key deadlines. The tournament, which will be jointly hosted by Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda for the first time, is provisionally scheduled for June 19 to July 17, 2027.
