The 13th Africa Aerospace and Defence exhibition concluded in Pretoria, South Africa, on Sunday, September 20, 2026, after five days of technological showcases and discussions on international cooperation.
Held at Air Force Base Waterkloof under the theme, “Africa’s Gateway to Defence and Aerospace Collaboration”, the biennial event attracted more than 250 exhibitors from Africa, Asia, Europe, North America and South America.
South Africa’s Minister of Defence and Military Veterans, Angie Motshekga, said the exhibition offered a platform for exchanging ideas, building partnerships and unlocking opportunities within the aerospace and defence sectors.
Segomotso Tire of the Armaments Corporation of South Africa said collaboration with international companies could provide African businesses with advanced technology and specialised skills. She identified aerial vehicles, augmented reality and cybersecurity as promising areas for cooperation.
AAD 2026 comprised three trade days from Wednesday, September 16, to Friday, September 18, followed by public air shows over the weekend of September 19 and 20.
