Supporters of Democratic Republic of Congo President Félix Tshisekedi marched in Kinshasa on Tuesday, 22 September 2026, backing a proposed constitutional amendment that could open the way for him to seek a third term.
The march, organised by the presidential Union for Democracy and Social Progress, began near the party’s headquarters and proceeded to the Martyrs Stadium. Party secretary-general Augustin Kabuya told demonstrators it was time to change the Constitution.
Some participants also voiced support for Tshisekedi’s response to the conflict in eastern DRC. The demonstration passed without reported violence, a week after an opposition march on 15 September.
