Activists and supporters of the People’s Movement for Progress (MPP), have officially nominated President Roch Marc Christian Kaboré as their candidate for the November presidential election. According to congressmen, this choice of President Kaboré is the result of the implementation of his promises during the 2015 electoral campaign.
“The major campaign promises he has made, focusing on sensitive sectors such as health, education, water, energy, agriculture and road infrastructure, which have been achieved at satisfactory levels,” said Simon Compaoré, President of the Movement for People and Progress.
Roch Marc Christian Kaboré, who was absent from the inauguration ceremony, agreed to carry the torch in a message read by Minister of State Siméon Sawadogo. “It is a patriotic duty for me to say yes. With the support of all the forces in the camp of democracy and progress, I pledge to take up this challenge with you”.
