The opening match of this Africa Cup of Nations 2022 saw Cameroon, the host country, win against Burkina Faso (2-1), Sunday, January 9. At Olembe Stadium, the Indomitable Lions were initially frustrated by the Stallions. But Vincent Aboubakar’s double goals on penalties gave them a good start.
Cameroon succeeded in its entry into the competition by obtaining the three points, with the compliments of its essential striker. An ideal start before facing its next opponent in Group A, Ethiopia, also at the Olembe Stadium, Tuesday, January 13. Burkina Faso will have to react the same day against Cape Verde.
Note that Cape Verde also won its encounter against Ethiopia by one goal in their first game.
