Tunisia to get UN-backed $100m financing package to support youth projects

Tunisia is set to receive a financing package of $100 million to be used to support employment and youth projects, the UN Resident Coordinator in the North African country announced Thursday August 31.

Arnaud Peral made the announcement on the sidelines of a workshop organized by the Tunisian ministry of Planning and Economy in conjunction with the UN.

The workshop aimed at preparing Tunisia’s participation in the World Leaders Summit on Sustainable Development Goals at the United Nations headquarters in New York on September 18 and 19, “Webdo Tunis reports”.

The financing package which falls under UN sustainable development goals (SDGs) implementation, could be increased depending on requests.
Tunisia, per the UN 2022 SDGs report, has regressed scoring 70.1 points compared to 70.4 points in 2021.
