Rail connection to Luanda’s new airport begins on November 7

Railway circulation between Bungo stations (Luanda) and Dr. António Agostinho Neto International Airport (AIAAN), begins on November 7th, three days before the date scheduled for the start of passenger flights at the new airport.

The new railway line, with five stations, runs around 40 kilometers and was built to improve mobility between the city center of Luanda and the municipality of Icolo and Bengo, where the new Angola International Airport is located, which replaces the February 4.
The CFL is creating a monthly corporate pass with discounts for employees of all companies and entities associated with AIAAN and plans to launch, by Thursday, October 31, a monthly rail pass for suburban passenger trains and the line serving the airport.
The start of AIAAN operations is scheduled for November 10, with four daily frequencies, operated on the Luanda-Cabinda route by the Angolan flag company TAAG.
The António Agostinho Neto International Airport is located in a total area of 75 square kilometers and was designed to receive 15 million passengers/year and 130 thousand tons of cargo.
