Avolta Expands into Tunisia with New Duty-Free Stores Across Major Airports

Avolta has made its debut in Tunisia, securing a significant contract for 15 stores spread across five key airports, which account for nearly 80% of the country’s air traffic. The top management of the company highlighted this move on January 20.

These airports include Tunis-Carthage International, Djerba-Zarzis International, Sfax-Thyna International, Tozeur-Nefta International, and Tabarka-Aïn Draham International. The new outlets will offer a wide range of products in duty-free categories, such as perfumes, cosmetics, liquor, and food & confectionery, with each store tailored to the specific needs and character of its location.

The company will also introduce exclusive concepts like Mind, Body & Soul, and Haute Parfumerie, which are designed to meet the growing demand for wellness products and personalized fragrance experiences. Avolta’s stores will combine international offerings with local flavors, creating a unique shopping experience for travellers. Avolta’s commitment to integrating digitalization and new technology will be evident across all locations, aligning with their strategic vision to enhance the customer journey.

Luis Marin, President & CEO of Avolta Europe, Middle East & Africa, highlighted Tunisia’s importance as a key market in Africa’s duty-free sector and expressed excitement about the company’s expansion in Mediterranean tourist destinations.
