Princess Lalla Asmaa, President of the Lalla Asmaa Foundation for Hearing Impaired Children & Youth, chaired Thursday the launch ceremony of a new humanitarian campaign which aims this year to enable 100 children from 17 countries in Africa and the Middle East (Palestine, Syria & Lebanon) to benefit from cochlear implants.
Dubbed: “United, We Hear Each Other Better”, the campaign was launched
in four cities – Rabat, Casablanca, Marrakech and Fez with the participation of ENT specialists and speech therapists from participating countries in this program. They will receive top-level training at Rabat school of medicine and in the partner hospitals to ensure medical follow-up of the children after their surgical operations.
For the first time in Morocco, an autopsy of a real human temporal bone is being carried out as part of this operation, marking a significant scientific advance for specialists in audiology and otology.
Princess Lalla Asmaa visited on this occasion children benefiting from the “United, We Hear Each Other Better” program, in the presence of the ambassadors of their respective countries.
Afterwards, the Princess chaired the signing ceremony of three partnership agreements between Lalla Asmaa Foundation, the Ministry of Health & Social Protection, the Ministry Delegate in charge of the Budget and Diplomatic Foundation in Morocco.
This new campaign shows the Princess’s strong dedication and unwavering commitment to improving the situation of children with special needs, especially hearing and speech impaired children.
For several decades, the Lalla Asmaa Foundation for Hearing Impaired Children & Youth has been providing specialized education to the beneficiaries who need technical support, including digital hearing aids, cochlear implants, and electronic transmission systems that help them integrate in society as full-fledged citizens.
