Angola Seeks to Attract Agricultural Investment at Upcoming U.S.-Africa Business Summit

Angola is positioning itself as a prime destination for agricultural investment ahead of the 17th U.S.-Africa Business Summit, scheduled to take place in Luanda from June 23 to 27, 2025. The summit, organized in collaboration with the Corporate Council on Africa (CCA), aims to strengthen economic ties between the United States and African nations, with a particular focus on sectors such as agriculture, infrastructure, energy, and technology.
Angolan officials are highlighting the country’s potential in the agricultural sector, emphasizing opportunities for investment in agribusiness and food security initiatives. The government’s efforts to diversify the economy away from oil dependency include initiatives to boost agricultural production and develop sustainable agri-food systems. The summit is expected to serve as a platform for Angola to showcase these opportunities to potential investors and partners from the United States and other participating countries.
The timing of the summit is significant, coinciding with Angola’s 50th anniversary of independence in November 2025. This milestone underscores the country’s progress and aspirations for economic growth and development. By hosting the summit, Angola aims to reinforce its role as a strategic partner in Africa’s economic landscape and attract investments that will contribute to the nation’s long-term prosperity.
