Senegal’s PM Ousmane Sonko to Unveil Ambitious Economic and Social Recovery Plan on August 1

Prime Minister Ousmane Sonko has announced the forthcoming launch of an Economic and Social Recovery Plan to tackle Senegal’s pressing economic challenges.
In a nationally broadcast message on Monday, July 28, Sonko scheduled the official presentation of the plan for Friday, 1 August 2025, at 9 a.m. Emphasising urgency and determination, he declared, “the time for recovery has come,” positioning the initiative as a decisive response to the economic difficulties inherited by his Administration.
The recovery plan is framed as a cornerstone of structural transformation, targeting critical sectors such as governance reform, employment generation, and social justice. Appealing to a sense of national unity, Prime Minister Sonko called on all Senegalese citizens to rally behind the initiative, affirming that, “Together, we will meet the challenge.” His message signals a strategic pivot towards inclusive development and collective resilience.
