Morocco, whose Monarch chairs the Al-Quds Committee, has welcomed the announcement made by U.S. President Donald Trump regarding the conclusion of a ceasefire agreement in Gaza.
Morocco “expresses its deep appreciation for the sustained efforts and personal commitment of HE President Donald Trump, which have played a decisive role in achieving this hopeful outcome, and also commends the constant efforts of all mediators,” the Moroccan Foreign Ministry said in a statement released this Thursday in Rabat.
Morocco urges all parties to fully implement this agreement, in order to safeguard lives, ensure the release of hostages and prisoners, allow for the swift and sufficient delivery of humanitarian aid, launch the reconstruction process, and open prospects for a just, comprehensive, and lasting solution to the Palestinian conflict, the statement added.
The Kingdom of Morocco, whose Sovereign chairs the Al-Quds Committee, reaffirms its firm attachment to the two-state solution as the only viable foundation for achieving a just and lasting peace in the region — through the establishment of an independent and sovereign Palestinian state within the borders of June 4, 1967, with East Jerusalem as its capital, including the Gaza Strip, living side by side with the State of Israel in security and peace, the statement pointed out further.
The statement affirmed that Morocco stands fully ready to actively contribute to all agreed steps and initiatives aimed at guaranteeing the rights of the Palestinian people and supporting stability in the Middle East.
