President Félix Tshisekedi, on Tuesday, November 11, highlighted the Democratic Republic of Congo’s vast opportunities for Israeli investment in sectors such as mining, infrastructure, energy, agriculture, and education during a meeting with visiting Israeli President Isaac Herzog in Kinshasa.
Tshisekedi expressed optimism about the progress of bilateral discussions, noting that relations between the two nations were “going very, very, very well.” Herzog’s visit — his first to Central Africa and the DRC — forms part of Israel’s broader efforts to expand its diplomatic and economic footprint on the continent.
The Congolese presidency said the talks focused on deepening cooperation across political, security, digital, and agricultural domains. Herzog described the friendship between the two countries as “deep and beneficial,” citing the success of a friendship caucus established in Israel’s parliament to promote bilateral engagement.
His trip follows an official visit to Zambia on Monday and underscores Tel Aviv’s strategic push to strengthen alliances across Africa, particularly with nations that have historically shown solidarity with the Palestinian cause.
