Tunisia’s Insurance Industry Posts Robust Growth in First Nine Months of 2025

Tunisia’s insurance sector delivered a resilient financial performance in the first nine months of 2025, recording total revenues of 3,123.3 million dinars, an 11.5% uplift compared to the same period in 2024.
The growth was driven largely by the continued momentum in life insurance, which expanded by 19.1%, outpacing the 8.7% increase in non-life premiums. Automobile insurance maintained its firm grip on the market with a 39.5% share, followed by group health and fire insurance. Claims activity also rose, particularly in the automobile segment, where reported incidents climbed to 253,414.
Across the sector, claims payments reached 1,575.2 million dinars, marking a 3.4% year-on-year increase, with automobile-related payouts soaring by 19.5%. In contrast, fire insurance claims fell by 13.5%, and payments to life and capitalization policyholders declined by 12%.
Meanwhile, the industry bolstered its financial buffers, with technical reserves rising to 10,901 million dinars—up 13.9% from September 2024—reflecting strengthened sectoral resilience and forward-looking capital management.
