Ghana Responds to Israel with Reciprocal Deportations Amid Diplomatic Tensions

On Wednesday, December 10, Ghana deported three Israeli nationals in a reciprocal move following what it described as the unacceptable removal of three Ghanaians from Israel. In a statement issued on Wednesday, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs underscored that the action was taken to uphold the dignity of Ghanaian citizens.
The ministry noted that the chargé d’affaires ad interim of the Israeli Embassy was summoned in the absence of the ambassador, during which both sides affirmed their commitment to pursue a constructive and amicable resolution to the developing dispute.
Reiterating Ghana’s commitment to principled international engagement, the statement affirmed the nation’s expectation that its citizens be accorded the same dignity and respect that Ghana extends to nationals of all partner countries.
