The French company Touton S.A, through its subsidiary Touton Cocoa Processing Company Limited in Ghana. The infrastructure that will be opened on April 2015, will process approximately 25,000 tons of raw material and could double this capacity within three years.
For Touton, the choice of Ghana is explained not only by the quality of its cocoa production, which is the first in world, but also by its political stability and economic environment that is favorable to business. The dealer said that the supply of its plant will be made with beans produced for sustainable standards.
At a ceremony held at the Cocoa House in Accra, Dr. Stephen Kwabena Opuni, Chief Executive of COCOBOD was glad to welcome another cocoa processing company into the country.
He was hopeful that Cocoa Touton Processing Company Limited would help add more value to the produce, to generate more employment and increase consumption of cocoa in Ghana and the West African Sub-region.
The Chief Executive of Touton Cocoa Processing Company Limited in Ghana, Mr. Patrick de Boussac was grateful to the Government of Ghana and COCOBOD for the opportunity to operate in the country; and has affirmed his company’s readiness to comply with the Ghana Cocoa Board rules and regulations governing the operations of cocoa processing companies in Ghana.
Note that Touton SA has been operating in Ghana since 1998 with annually buys between 80,000 and 110,000 tons of cocoa which ranks among the top five buyers of the country’s beans.
