Pope Leo departed Luanda for Saurimo on 20 April 2026 as part of his apostolic visit to Angola, which is scheduled to run from 18 April to 21 April 2026.
During his visit to Saurimo, the Pope is expected to engage in pastoral activities, including a visit to a Centre for the elderly and the celebration of Mass, before returning to Luanda later the same day.
The visit forms part of a broader African tour and underscores themes of reconciliation, unity and outreach to communities beyond the capital.
