Fifteen Killed, Including Ten Children, in Central Guinea Road Crash

At least 15 people, including ten children, were killed in a road accident in Mamou, central Guinea, in the early hours of Monday, 29 June 2026.

The crash occurred around 01:00 local time when a vehicle carrying 16 passengers, many of them students travelling for the holidays, collided with a semi-trailer truck on a winding section of the road.

According to regional health officials, the victims comprised five boys, five girls, three men and two women, all from the Labe prefecture. One person survived and was taken to hospital in critical condition.

A family representative, Oumar Rafiou Bah, said several of his relatives, including his brother’s wife and three children, were among the dead. Authorities have launched an investigation to establish the cause of the accident.
