Togo’s annual inflation rate remained unchanged at 0.1% in June 2026, marking the fifth consecutive month at that level and remaining well below the 3% convergence ceiling set by the West African Economic and Monetary Union (WAEMU).
According to data released by the National Institute of Statistics, Economic and Demographic Studies (INSEED) on 21 July 2026, the Harmonised Index of Consumer Prices rose by 1.2% month-on-month to 106.2 points in June from 105 points in May.
The monthly increase was driven mainly by higher prices for food and non-alcoholic beverages, which rose by 2.4%, followed by transport costs (2.1%), restaurants and accommodation services (1.1%) and housing and energy (0.5%).
INSEED attributed the price increases to seasonal rises in the cost of agricultural produce, including yams, tomatoes, green peppers, onions and dried anchovies, as well as higher fuel prices. Petrol prices increased by 5.5%, while diesel prices rose by 6.5%.
