Four Ghanaians accused of involvement in the alleged export of nearly 3.9 tonnes of cocaine from Ghana to France have been remanded in custody by the High Court in Accra.
The suspects — Desmond Koranteng Curiel, also known as “Paul Kweku Yeboah” or “Biggs”; Musah Attah, alias “Kromo”; Kweku Otchere; and Jessica Hartog — appeared before the Court on Wednesday, September 16, 2026. They were remanded for four weeks and are expected to reappear on October 13, 2026.
The four face charges of conspiracy to export narcotic drugs without a licence from the Minister of Health and the exportation of narcotic drugs. A fifth accused person, Dutch national Jos Leijdekkers, also known as “Bolle Jos”, is reportedly at large.
The case follows the seizure of nearly 3.9 tonnes of cocaine by French customs officials at the port of Dunkirk in northern France on September 10, 2026. The drugs, estimated to have a street value of €225 million, were reportedly concealed in a container carrying plastic waste that had arrived from Ghana.
Part of the shipment was reportedly destined for Antwerp, Belgium. Ghana’s Narcotics Control Commission (NACOC) subsequently arrested suspects over the shipment and said it was collaborating with French authorities to establish how the consignment allegedly left Ghana and identify those involved.
