Tunisia’s President Kais Saied appointed Wednesday January 24 three new Ministers to fill the Government of Prime Minister Ahmed El Hachani.
The new comers are Feriel Ouerghi, Fatma Thabet and Lotfi Dhiab. They will respectively hold the portfolios of Economy and Planning; Industry, Energy and Mines; and Employment and Vocational Training.
The three cabinet portfolios had been without heads after their holders were fired during Hachani’s predecessor’s tenure.
Saied also appointed three new Secretaries of States.
Hachani took oath in July 2023 in replacement of the country’s first female Prime Minister Najla Bouden.
The 65-year old former geology professor at the National School of Engineers was appointed in September 2021 to replace fired Premier Hichem Mechichi.
