The application period for project funding through the European Union’s Angola initiative will run from November 4, 2024, to February 7, 2025, providing Angolan and European organizations with an opportunity to secure additional funding for collaborative projects.
To support applicants in crafting successful submissions, the EU will offer a series of training sessions during this period, aimed at enhancing the quality and effectiveness of applications.
The European Union has allocated an additional €300,000 to support projects that strengthen cooperation and dialogue between Angolan and European partners. This financial boost is expected to facilitate cross-border collaboration on a range of pressing issues, contributing to both local and regional development.
According to a press release, the priority areas for these projects cover several sectors essential to sustainable development and social stability. These include peace and security initiatives that promote regional stability; good governance and human rights projects designed to enhance democratic participation and social justice; and economic growth efforts focused on fostering sustainable development and creating job opportunities. Environmental sustainability and climate change are also key themes, addressing the pressing need for projects that protect ecosystems and promote resilience to climate-related challenges.
Additional thematic areas include energy and transport, with a focus on expanding access to clean energy and enhancing infrastructure, science and technology to support innovation and technological advancement, and education and training to improve human capital and skills development.
This funding and support underscore the EU’s commitment to fostering productive partnerships that align with Angola’s strategic goals and address shared global challenges.
