Sudan, Qatari firm agree on livestock & fisheries investment deal

Sudan and Qatar’s Future Union Holding Company have agreed to sign a Memorandum of Understanding to attract investment into Sudan’s livestock and fisheries sectors.

The agreement was finalized on Sunday, October 25, 2026, following talks in Khartoum between Sudan’s Minister of Animal Resources and Fisheries, Ahmed Al-Tijani Al-Mansouri, and the company’s Chief Executive Officer, Abdul Jalil Samir.

The proposed investment includes the establishment of modern animal production cities with facilities for breeding, veterinary care and meat processing to improve production and support regional exports.

The initiative forms part of Sudan’s efforts to revive its economy after prolonged conflict damaged key production sectors and national infrastructure.

Al-Mansouri pledged to remove bureaucratic and logistical barriers to investment, while announcing plans for promotional tours across several Arab countries to attract foreign investors and wealthy Sudanese expatriates. Future Union Holding reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening economic cooperation with Sudan.
