Gambia’s Foreign Minister Mamadou Tangara reiterated Thursday in Rabat his country’s “unambiguous” support for Morocco’s sovereignty over its Sahara.
“We have reiterated our unambiguous position on Morocco’s sovereignty over its Sahara and on the territorial integrity of the Kingdom,” Tangara told the press following talks with Minister of Foreign Affairs Nasser Bourita.
Tangara recalled that Gambia was the first country to open a Consulate General in Dakhla and “we are proud to have done so,” Tangara added, recalling that this initiative has since been followed by many countries.
The Gambian official was carrying a message from President Adama Barrow to King Mohammed VI.
