Mozambique: Eleven thousand tons of beans without buyers in Tambara

The Tambara area of Manica has 11,000 tons of butter beans but no buyers.

The shaky state of the access roads also has an impact on the selling of beans, according to Benedito Zindua, a spokesman of the groups of agricultural producers in the Tambara district.

According to Zindua, producers frequently incur losses as a result of the district’s large number of purchasers setting the product’s price. He claimed that farmers are requesting government assistance to address the issue.

Local economic actors have been buying beans in tiny quantities.
