The International Monetary Fund (IMF) announced today that it has reached agreement with the authorities of Guinea-Bissau to negotiate a 36-month program under the Extended Credit Facility Program (EFF).
“The IMF staff has reached agreement with the Guinea-Bissau authorities on a medium-term program to be supported by IMF resources of about $36.3 million [€35.4 million] under the Extended Credit Facility,” said staff mission chief Jose Gijon.
The 36-month program to support Guinea-Bissau’s economic policies is still subject to approval by the IMF board and consideration by its Executive Board.
