Mecwide has completed its largest ever project in Angola, a Sonangol gas reception and distribution unit in Zaire province, worth 42.5 million euros, the metalworking company announced on Tuesday January 23.
The Portuguese company was responsible for the turnkey construction (EPC) of this unit, which will handle around 50 million cubic feet of gas per day.
In addition to this unit, Mecwide was responsible for the construction of a gas pipeline over nine kilometers long. The `Falcão Phase 2′ project is located in the city of Soyo, Zaire province, and covers a total area of four hectares.
It is considered by the Angolan government to be a strategic part of the construction of the ammonia and urea factories, which will guarantee the country’s autonomy in the production of fertilizers for agricultural soils.
