Libya: Several eastern and western municipalities close schools due to adverse weather conditions

Benghazi Municipality has announced the suspension of all educational activities in schools across its neighborhoods on Wednesday and Thursday, December 25 & 26. This decision comes in anticipation of severe weather conditions, including heavy rainfall and strong winds, which pose potential risks to students and staff.

Similarly, Sirte Municipality has declared closure of primary schools in both public and private institutions during the same two days, citing the adverse weather forecast.

In several other municipalities, similar announcements have been made to ensure the safety of students and educators.

These decisions come as northern Libya faces turbulent weather conditions, particularly in its eastern regions. The National Center for Meteorology has issued warnings about the ongoing impact of a low-pressure system. This system has brought scattered heavy rainfall and strong winds to various parts of the country and is expected to persist until the end of the week.
