Scottish Businessman Found Dead in Nairobi After Disappearance

A Scottish businessman who went missing in Kenya has been found dead, authorities confirmed on Monday February 24. Campbell Scott, 58, from Fife, was last seen by colleagues on 16 February at the JW Marriott Hotel in Nairobi, where he was attending a conference. The senior director at the credit scoring firm Fico was reported missing after failing to return to his accommodation, and local police later identified his body.
Fico expressed their sorrow at the news, stating that Campbell was “instrumental” in expanding the company’s operations internationally since joining in 2014. A spokeswoman for the firm said the staff were “devastated” by the loss and described Campbell as a “leader” in the business who would be deeply missed for his humour and kindness.
The company also extended their thoughts to his family and friends, requesting that their privacy be respected during this difficult time.
Campbell Scott, who studied at Woodmill High School in Dunfermline and Kirkcaldy Technical College, had worked for various companies before joining Fico. Police, along with assistance from Interpol, launched a search for him after his disappearance. The JW Marriott Hotel, located in Nairobi’s affluent Westlands district, is where he had been staying. The UK Foreign Office has been approached for further comment.
