Togo: the 2015 Budget is over 806 billion CFA

Collectif-budgetaire_ng_image_fullThe Togolese parliament voted the budget bill for the years 2015 at about 806,193 billion francs CFA. The resources as expenditures, have experienced an increase of 11.5% compared to the revised 2014 budget.

According to Togolese authorities, this new budget is to help the Accelerated Growth Strategy and Employment Promotion (SCAPE) to achieve results fixed for 2015. According to the Minister of Economic and Finance, Adji Otèth AYASSOR, the government’s priority is to devote the bulk of resources to social sectors, employment and especially to the growth sectors.

The allocations of expenses are distributed as below :
Expenditure on salaries of government officials, is amounted to 162.9 billion francs, an increment of 13.3% compared to 2014 due mainly to the conversion into index points of flat rates for 20,000 and 30,000 FCFA and the increment of the salary scale.

Capital expenditures are amounted to 247.6 billion FCFA, an increment of 7.2% compared to 2014 due to the investment increment in road infrastructure financed from Togolese state own funds. The resources will come from taxes. The resources from outside will be, donations, budgetary support and loans.

The Finance Act under examination wants to strengthen the fight against poverty, improve public revenue, boost the economy through investment and finally improve the living conditions of the population.

Note that Togo aims to achieve a growth rate of 6.2% in 2017, and becoming an emerging country in 2030.
