Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty concluded his diplomatic tour of West Africa in Senegal on Thursday, July 24, marking the fifth and final stop of his regional engagement. During his visit to Dakar, Abdelatty held talks with senior Senegalese officials, as well as representatives from Government and private sectors. Discussions focused on enhancing bilateral cooperation in the areas of trade, investment, infrastructure, and human resource development, with an emphasis on Egypt’s willingness to share expertise in training and capacity building.
In addition to strengthening economic ties, the two countries explored avenues for closer collaboration on regional security, particularly concerning the Sahel and counter-terrorism initiatives. Abdelatty also stressed Egypt’s commitment to advancing collective African action through the African Union and other multilateral frameworks. The Senegal visit followed earlier stops in Burkina Faso, Nigeria, Niger, and Mali, where the minister participated in Forums to deepen Egypt’s engagement across West Africa.
