Morocco and Rwanda have voiced their shared determination to upgrade their military cooperation and to foster exchange and concertation between the two countries’ armies.
This came during a meeting held Tuesday in Rabat between Inspector General of the Royal Armed Forces and Commander of the South Zone, Lieutenant General Mohammed Berrid, and Chief of Staff of the Rwandan Army, Major General Vincent Nyakarundi, who is paying a work visit to Morocco November 10-14, the FAR General Staff said in a press release.
This visit is part of the implementation of the military cooperation agreement inked in June 2025 in Rabat between the two parties, covering different areas of cooperation in the military field, said the press release.
During the talks, the Chief of Staff of the Rwandan Army expressed his deep satisfaction with the excellent bilateral ties existing between Morocco and Rwanda and pointed out that this visit is a key step to furthering military cooperation, fostering exchange and concertation between the two armies.
Both officials reiterated shared willingness to bolster and expand the existing partnership momentum, thereby contributing to enshrining a lasting and exemplary military cooperation between the two armies.
Built on a long and solid history, ties between Morocco and Rwanda, boosted since the historic visit King Mohammed VI to Kigali in 2016, are gearing towards a strategic partnership aiming to promote development, safety, and peace on the African continent.
