Rwanda’s Tourism Revenue Climbs to $685 Million in 2025 on Strong Visitor Growth

Rwanda’s tourism sector recorded robust growth in 2025, with revenue rising to 685 million U.S. dollars from 647 million dollars in 2024, according to a report released Tuesday, April 28 by the Rwanda Development Board (RDB).

The growth was driven by 1.49 million visitor arrivals, boosted by attractions such as mountain gorilla trekking and expanded experiences across national parks.

The Meetings, Incentives, Conferences and Exhibitions (MICE) segment also posted gains, generating 94.7 million dollars in 2025, up from 84.8 million dollars the previous year. Rwanda further reinforced its standing as a premium tourism and events destination by hosting 165 international and regional events.

The report highlighted consistent performance across key sectors, alongside reforms aimed at strengthening Rwanda’s competitiveness in investment, trade and tourism.

RDB Chief Executive Officer Jean-Guy Afrika said the results reflect sustained progress in advancing economic priorities, adding that efforts remain focused on fostering a stable and competitive environment to support private sector growth and long-term development.
