Ethiopia hosts the inaugural African Logistics and Communication Symposium in Addis Ababa this July 27 – 30, with the participation of representatives from 40 countries and 26 international industry partners.
The two-day continental event will focus on strengthening cooperation, innovation and knowledge-sharing in logistics and communication systems, which are considered essential for military, humanitarian and civilian operations across Africa.
Major General Teshome Gemechu, Director General of External Relations and Military Cooperation at the Ethiopian National Defense Forces, said Ethiopia’s selection as host reflects its growing role in promoting regional peace and security.
He said the symposium would provide an opportunity for participating countries to exchange experiences, identify best practices and develop solutions to challenges affecting logistics and communication capabilities.
United States Africa Command (AFRICOM) Logistics Director Brigadier General Paul Felix said the United States was honored to co-organize the event with Ethiopia, adding that the symposium would help deepen cooperation between African countries and international partners.
The organizers expect the Forum to strengthen professional networks, improve operational readiness and contribute to greater peace and security across the continent.
