South Africa: Two Gauteng traffic police officers found shot dead

A male and a female traffic police officers from Gauteng have been discovered shot to death.

Authorities were alerted to the scene of the incident, Debonairpark in the Sedibeng District, early on Saturday morning. They stated that when they arrived, the police officers’ bodies were covered and proclaimed dead by ER24 paramedics.

Next to each body were firearms.

The couple, who were both traffic cops, reportedly got into an argument outside of the after-tears and that’s when the gunfire was heard.

While one of cops received a single gunshot wound to the head, the other officer suffered four gunshot wounds.

At the location, eight gunshot casings were discovered.

“I can confirm that De Deur police are investigating murder and suicide dockets after two traffic police members were found dead,” said Noxolo Kweza, a spokesperson for the Gauteng police, in reference to the event. They were discovered dead in the roadway.”
